On Revolution- MAKE GOOD ART

We don’t need StuCo to MAKE GOOD ART.

There, I said it.

You don’t need the permission of a board to MAKE GOOD ART.

Heresy, I know.

Board have money, first access to space, and prestige. You don’t need any of those things to MAKE GOOD ART.

If you’re in it for the money and the prestige, you’re involved in Deadly Theater (Brook)

Structure is for putting a safety net under a show.

If we had a community that tolerated risk and failure as part of the artistic/educational process, we wouldn’t need a safety net.

Everyone is an artist. Even those that aren’t chosen by StuCo.

Why let a small group of people determine the artistic endeavors of the many?

Shows still need actors, designers, artists, lovers, stage managers and dreamers.

They don’t need administrators.

Not all theater grows in the same way.

So why do we insist on the same cookie-cutter processes?

We are not Professional/Store front/ Chicago Theaters.

So why do we pretend that we are? Our audiences are parents and students, mostly friends

You don’t have to risk alone.

We’re all here to learn and to risk (which is part of learning). Let’s do it together.
